Smooth acrylic sheet can serve as a dry erase board because its nonporous surface keeps marker ink from soaking into the material. Glossy clear or white acrylic usually erases more cleanly than frosted, satin, textured, mirrored, or coated sheets, which may retain ink and create ghosting.
Clear acrylic can be mounted over a white wall or printed backing, while white opaque acrylic provides stronger contrast. Before bulk production, test the specified marker after one hour, 24 hours, and repeated writing cycles. Clean the panel with a microfiber cloth and an acrylic-compatible cleaner. Abrasive pads and strong solvents may scratch or haze PMMA.
ISO 7823-1:2003 covers cast PMMA sheets from 1.5 to 25 mm. ISO 7823-2:2003 covers extruded PMMA sheets from 1.5 to 20 mm. Panel size, support structure, mounting points, and writing pressure should determine the required thickness.
A manufacturer can directly control resin grade, gloss, thickness, cutting, polishing, drilling, printing, and protective film. A trader depends more on separate suppliers, making surface consistency and corrective action less direct.
With more than 10 years of acrylic, polycarbonate, and polystyrene sheet experience, we operate automated production lines with monthly processing capacity of about 600 tons. Our OEM and ODM process covers drawing review, material confirmation, sample testing, production, inspection, and export packing.
Confirm sheet type, gloss, dimensions, tolerance, backing color, printed grid, mounting holes, edge finish, marker compatibility, cleaning instructions, and packaging.
Quality checkpoints should cover scratches, flatness, color consistency, print adhesion, delayed erasing, repeated-use ghosting, and protective-film condition. Export orders should also confirm ISO 9001 controls, RoHS or REACH documents when required, labels, traceability, and pallet protection.
